Both McCallie and GPS won their respective semifinal games to advance to the D-II finals tomorrow at David Lipscomb in Nashville.
GPS won going away, but McCallie had to rally from 11 down to overcome a good Briarcrest team. The final minutes saw a technical foul on McCallie for hanging on the rim (weak call), an offensive foul on a loose ball (awful call), multiple missed free throws by Briarcrest, a terrible possession by the Saints when they could have held the ball for the last shot (getting one free throw to take the lead, but giving McCallie the last shot) followed by a wild sequence on the other end that resulted in a foul on Cordell James's three-point attempt. James made all three freebies and Briarcrest's last second shot wasn't close.
I'll be at the games tomorrow at Lipscomb. Reports to follow.
